Our everday Life(Micro EssayII)

The ritual routine of our everyday life makes things seems to be, on one hand, perpertual. Sometimes we tried to figure out the best way to manage our time, but than again this process of trying to manage time is part of the routine of our everyday life. we tend to wake up everyday to the same world of hustle and bustle with the desire to accomplish many tacks. In this process, we are guieded by laws and norms, ethics and moralities thus scripting our lives with detail of complexities.

we wake up every morning to a busy world; revolving around the clock, going to class, work, meetings, practices and other important daily events. At home, we tend to worried about paying bills and meeting certain deadlines to other essential obligations. whether we accomplish these tasks or not, we always with no choice, make them our devine obligations. going to class for an example. cognizant of the reward in education, relative to getting a good paying job, or for any other reason(s), I Percieve the schooling process an everyay thing. From Monday through friday, it never stop there for me. I Study on Saturdays and sundays hence, getting ready for another week. this process go on and on it never ends.

On the other hand, I tried to get involve in other extracurriculars. Like for an example, my role as an officer for The Media Promotion and Production Association (MPPA), here at IUP. I have to be at every officer meetings. I must make the time to attend these biweekly meetings. I am also involved in a local soccer club that practice from Mondays to Thursdays of Every week. It is not Mendatory that I go to these Soccer Practices, but for the sake of keeping fit, I try to go twice a week. It is stressful sometimes when you have a lot to do and want to do them all at once. For me, I have developed a habit of balancing my time so that non of these daily activities co-incide with the other.

If the world will stop for a minute....

If the world will stop for a Minute.

Sometimes I wish everything around me will stop for a minute. I wish the world will stop rotating on its axis, sometimes I wish that every living creature will stop to observe a moment of silence for a minute, a moment when everything but our hearts will stop moving. A moment, that will for a minute, change the status quo of everyday routine.

In the year 2001, after a year in the United States, I visited one of my uncles in New York City. I heard of the “BIG APPLE” as one of the worlds busiest cities. As curios as I was being a new comer, I was able make some observation that indeed justified the city to be one of the world’s busiest cities. I saw men dress up in business suit riding scoters to work; some with black leather brief cases racing to catch either a taxi or subway. Everybody was running, jogging, fast walking or doing something that made them appeared busy. No one had the time for salutations. That was my first day in New York.

Second day in New York City was like a replay of yesterday. It seems like a daily routine that is carried out by everybody. Nothing seems to change. My second observation was the media. News papers come out everyday. Everyday there is some kind of news to report; the electronic media takes to the air ways crowding the minds of their audiences with programs of the same pattern on a daily basis. When the sun goes down, the streets lights up with subliminal messages from all sources of media institutions, Bars and night clubs are engaged, and overpopulated with the same people that walked the streets during the day.

From this observation, I concluded that New York City is not the only city in the united State of America that experiences this compiling ritual of busy bodies. Other cities, towns and sections are also busy. In some nucleus family, children fell neglected because their parents made vows to join the busy wagon. They have come up with the saying that time is money. Some want to live the so call American dream therefore; they work two to three jobs leaving no time for their family.

If the entire world will stop just for a minute, at least, they will realize that for the first time in the history of mankind, the unusual have happened.

First Day in Room 202 for English 202
Fall Semester Came by so fast

The long anticipated fall semester was here before I knew it. First day of school was like a resurrection of IUP after a period of time that made the school campus seems like no man land. Students raced to their classes; some on bikes, others drove around the campus in search of vacant parking spaces, while those who live close by took easy walks. As the saying goes whether you enter through the back door or the front door, the focus point is to find yourself inside of the building. the finale of all these ran around was the class rooms where we were to meet, for the first time, or maybe not, professors under whose tutorships we will be subjected for the entire semester.

It occurred to me that after two years of study here at IUP, Walking through the corridor of Leonard for a 202 English class was my first time. I took a brief walk to the second floor of Leonard to room 202. Students were waiting outside of the class, I popped my head in to see if indeed this was the room of knowledge I have come searching for. The professor immediately greeted me in an informal way by noding his head to me which signal to me that I was not lost, and that i was finally here in room 202.

There was something unusual about this room; unlike the many other classes that i have had during my study here at iup, this room was a little bit too clustered, and jammed with computers. At first, It seems like I was in a computer literacy class but not sooner than later was I quickly corrected when the professor commence the class by introducing himself, which was subssequently followed by response of each of us as we took our turns to say all the best things about ourselves. From the introductions, I noticed that the professor was full of humor, and that he was a fun person. He made us laugh on many occasions through the introduction. To the pleasure of us all, at least it was a good start so far.

Cognizant of what the class is about, and with the authority and power invested in him, the professor went over the syllabus, and stressed some essential things that we are supposed to be aware of as we commence this academic journey in English 202.
The time went by fast. Though we went through the regular hours, it seems like all we did today was talk, laugh, and simply getting to know each other.

The summer was indeed fun, well, atleast for some but it is over, but sitting here in room 202, what looked us in the face now is fall, and for sure, it came by so fast.
